The ADP Group, fast-expanding world leader in airport services, decided to leave its historical headquarters Boulevard Raspail in Paris to move into brand new premises located right on the edge of the takeoff and landing runways at Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle.

By deciding to fly towards a destination located next to its core business, next to airport activity centers, ADP wanted to provide a more comfortable working environment to its staff, as close as possible to their customers but also to the airport daily activity – the runways are located only a few meters from the new headquarters and hundreds of planes pass here each day.

The ADP Group wished to provide a high quality-level of service to the place. « Employees deserve the same quality of welcome service as the one provided by the Group for its customers ». The staff will benefit from an exceptional point of view on the airport runways and especially on the Concorde, which is displayed in the very forefront but also on the 3 rooftop terraces referring to the « French gardens ». Above all, they will work in a wonderful environment rich in services.

The ADP Group project management contacted ARCH.DESIGN to help them in the design and the manufacturing of innovative, flexible, ergonomic and fun office furniture solutions enabling to increase both the use of nomadic technologies and agility in shared working environments.

As an answer, ARCH DESIGN brought an innovative concept: a workstation adjustable in height thanks to a unique pneumatic gas mechanism; to describe it simply, it uses the same system available on any office chair. The height adjustment of the desk is very quick and accurate. As no electrical power source is required, it enables to save energy and participates to environment protection.

To optimize staff well-being, we also carried out an in-depth reflection offering a wide variety of areas: entertainment rooms with table football, table tennis, bars, massage and relaxation areas and even a fitness center (with a climbing wall, a squash room as well as cardio training and fitness equipments, with view on the Concorde).

Then, many informal isolated lounges, small quiet places and meeting rooms have also been introduced in all working spaces, for confidential phone calls or to arrange a meeting at any moment. The whole fit-out project has been designed with modern and warm colors, natural materials and integrating green vegetal walls to improve the visual comfort and the feeling of ‘outside escape’ for the employees.

Moreover, on a surface area of 3000 m², the Roissy CDG headquarters also integrates the Environment House, a club-restaurant to accommodate all ADP partners, a multimedia library, an auditorium, a computer and telecom kiosk and a concierge / luggage room. The new headquarters is definitely a real open space. As Augustin de Romanet, CEO of the Group, said: “90% of our working space is now open, it will enable us to work more reliably and efficiently.”

Informal spaces, graphic walls, themed areas

These 3 headquarters buildings are designed to be « a balcony open on the airport » and the goal is that in the future, it will rapidly become the « common house » for all the airport community. As soon as visitors enter the space, they are impressed by the luminous space and the huge bay windows in the entrance, rising like a majestic transparent filter between the inside and the outside…

Let’s imagine 12 000 m² headquarters spread over 5 floors, exceptional views, a flexible and fun working environment open on the outside and all these improvements are respectful of the most recent and demanding standards and certified HQE, excellence level and BREEAM – grade very good. A major prowess!

To inaugurate this technical and technological achievement, the French President François Hollande came to visit the place and congratulated all the employees for their implication. He also brought his support to the Group for its international and local expansion which contributes to the visibility of France in Europe and all around the world.

François Hollande pointed out that « A great country must remain open. Your headquarters symbolize our openness to the world. ».

« It is more than headquarters, the whole airport community is welcomed here and it is part of a larger urban project.».

Now that this project is achieved, ADP aims to make the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport the first European airport and to strengthen its world leadership in airport services.

ARCH.DESIGN is honored to have contributed to the development and realization of the project and is really proud of the customer satisfaction concerning the products and services.  Testimonial :  «We have chosen ARCH.DESIGN to provide all the cabinets, meeting tables and desks for all the staff in the new head office but also for the whole ADP group. Among other reasons, we chose to work with ARCH.DESIGN because we were convinced by their height-adjustable desks.»
